Steve McGirr graduated from Dalhousie in 1998 with his BSc in Physiotherapy. He has spent the majority of his career as a military member. Before his Physiotherapy career, he worked as a cipher technician in the army for a period, then as an AESOP with the Airforce. Outside of treating military members, Steve has considerable experience working in Long Term Care facilities and the community at large. Steve has a wide range of skills including specialized manual courses, ergonomic assessments and functional exercise skills.

Steve enjoys running and the outdoors and has competed at the national level for various military teams such as running, soccer and basketball. He was the recent trainer for the CISSM men`s volleyball team when they competed in Cuba.
